About the Teacher
My name is Stephanie Rush. I was born and raised here in Jackson, Michigan. My parents, brother, and the majority of my extended family still live in the area. I attended St. John the Evangelist Elementary school, JCMS, and graduated from Lumen Christi in 1995. After working my way through college (often full time), I graduated in April 2004 from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career back at St. John's as a third grade teacher. I have also been a substitute teacher in many area public schools. I am currently taking graduate courses in a variety of topics that I can incorporate into my classroom, including Kagan Multiple Intelligences and various Educational Technology courses. I also have my Advanced Certification as a Catechist in the Diocese of Lansing.
In the meantime, I married my wonderful husband, Christopher, and we added to our family in 2009 with the birth of our daughter, Regan. We are practicing members of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish, my husband's home parish. I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, kayaking and have recently taken up a new hobby of beading.
I feel very blessed to be a part of the St. Mary's family and look forward to working in partnership with you and your child on his/her academic, spiritual and social growth. Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the school year. I can be reached through the school office at 784-8811 or via email at [email protected]. I am also happy to schedule individual conferences in addition to the traditional fall conferences.
